A Hasbro Christmas in 2 inches or less?

As more and more companies are looking at the blind bag format to further saturate the market, Hasbro are no strangers and have made strides into the blind bag world over the last few years. Their main difference however is that they tend to stick to the 2" inch or less size format. With several lines already available, there are a few ready to launch just in time for the Christmas rush (and potentially capture the stocking filler niche).

Transformers BotBots are due out in the US this December. Despite their size - standing no more than 2 inches tall, BotBots are expected to transform in 3 to 5 steps. But with 61 characters to collect, series 1 will be a huge undertaking for completionists!

In fact, they look a lot like Shopkins which is little surprise considering they're also made by Hasbro. And not unlike shopkins (and MANY other licenses now) Transformers BotBots will be available in blind "bag", 5-pack, and 8-pack assortments.

Although already out overseas, Star Wars Micro Force blind bags look set to hit New Zealand by the new year (if not sooner). Although these look alike to Ooshies, they are not pencil toppers but miniature moulded figures.

It would also seem that Hasbro are trying to add value to their blind ranges as many of these series now deliver two characters per bag - these are no exception. The sad thing is that the Star Wars toy market is so over saturated, will these just vanish into obscurity or flourish and see further series released?

The popularity of Lost Kittens was a surprise, and although messy to open the license saw series one and, more recently, series two sell out from some stores. So it's not hard to see why Itty Bitty Kitties would be any different.

These should be out soon and will see a new format in the packaging; although it doesn't quite fit the "lost" milk carton motif, they do fit the milk portion. The main question is will they be as messy as their predecessors to open?

Edit: Itty Bitty Lost Kitties are out now at Farmers stores.

Finally, the Deadpool Chimichanga Surprise blind bags are already out abroad, but are expected in New Zealand before Christmas. These 2" figures look to have excessive packaging, but will hopefully make up for the subpar (and clearly rushed into production) Deadpool  Mystery Mini series by Funko earlier in the year.

With only 12 to collect in the series it's a potentially easy series to complete, so depending on their retail price should be worth at least a punt. However, from some of the glam shots these will hopefully be pretty good.

Edit: Deadpool Chimichanga Surprises are currently available at some EB stores.
