With the popularity of the Cryptozoic Cryptkins, it was only a matter of time before another company tried something similar.
Although Kid Robot may have had them in development for some time, it's poorly timed that the Dunny: City Cryptids series releases soon. With a few characters featuring a heavy similarity to some within Cryptkins, there is still enough diversity to, perhaps, sway those finding it hard to acquire the elusive Cryptozoic series.
From the glam images, it seems we'll just have to wait until closer to the release date to get a true idea of appearance and sculpt, although it's very seldom Kid Robot release a sub-par series, especially in the quality department.

Some pre-vis sculpt images have been released, but they are not the confirmed final product, so potentially nothing to go by, even though 80% of the time, they are wholly accurate.

For now, you can pre-order with their expected release in New Zealand, which is currently pencilled in as the 31st of July (this year). Pre-order here: Dunny: City Cryptids
The worst part of this, is that Cryptozoic have already slated a release for series two of the popular Cryptkins, which should drop in the fourth quarter of this year. This may be the cause of conflict for some collectors not prepared to invest in multiple series at or around the same time.
Personally, I'm looking forward to the second series of Cryptkins, and ruing the fact that series one seem to sell out faster than I can get my orders in.
Which series is your preference? Which company do you prefer? Who will get your money?
